Understanding publishing industry standards

In this session, Tara R. Alemany and Teri Rider will discuss the best practices for creating a professionally published book and will share some of the most common mistakes new publishers make.
Teri played a key role in developing the IBPA’s Industry Standards Checklist, which is divided into two parts, focusing on (1) editorial and (2) production standards, and details everything that needs to consider in order to produce professionally published books.
We'll talk about how following these standards can level the playing field for authors and publishers, especially when seeking reviews and entering award competitions.
